With more than 10 years of experience in all aspects of employee retirement benefits, Mizan specializes in the compliance, administration, design, and documentation of 401(k), 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans.
Prior to joining Monarch Plan Advisors, Mizan worked as a senior pension consultant at The Ryding Company where he managed mostly large 401(k) plans and served as the lead for all in-house 403(b) and 457(b) plans. Mizan plays an instrumental role in helping Monarch’s clients ensure their retirement plan is in compliance by becoming an extension of the HR and Finance department.
His broad experience includes providing high-level consulting to large plan sponsors, representing clients during DOL audits, and dealing with DOL Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program (VFCP) and IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS).

- An ERPA is an individual who has been approved by the IRS to practice before the IRS on certain retirement plan issues. An ERPA must have a working knowledge of plan document requirements, plan operation and administration, filing requirements (Form 5500), and IRS programs (for example, the Determination Letter Program and the Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS)).
- QPA credential recognizes expertise in advanced management functions for all types of pension plans, including technical administration, compliance, and reporting. The credential is provided by the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).
- A TGPC professional specializes in the 403(b), 457(b), and other plans maintained by tax-exempt and governmental entities.
